This hotel is in Dubai which is in the United Arab Emirates

- the hotel opened this june 2003 for tourists.

The Burj is very much a giant sail; its exoskeleton is comprised of a woven, Teflon-coated fiberglass cloth. Not only is this the tallest hotel on Earth, but it's also "the world's tallest structure with a membrane facade."
Don't be surprised if they know your name. The staff at the Burj Al Arab Hotel in Dubai do their homework. They also take service very seriously — at a buffet lunch there three weeks ago, your correspondent was assigned a personal assistant.
The Burj bills itself as the world's only seven-star hotel, a self-awarded distinction that seems unlikely to be challenged, at least until someplace is imaginative enough to start calling itself an eight-star establishment. It is definitely, however, the world's tallest hotel. That's been verified.
But in an oil-rich country that is home to one out of every six cranes in the world, and is building (among other things) the world's tallest building, largest mall, and biggest indoor ski resort, the Burj is par for the overly manicured course. Dubai is the Vegas of the Middle East. A private island chain in the shape of a world atlas is currently under construction.

Spain's first seven-star hotel

The owners of a half-built hotel on a ridge overlooking one of Majorca's quieter resorts say they will transform the complex into Spain's finest hotel
An Investment company, the Wingfield Corporation, has bought the Sa Talaia complex in Port de Soller, pictured, where work started in 1996 but stopped six years later because of planning and financial problems.
Work on the site will take another two years, with the aim to create the "best and most luxurious hotel" not only in Mallorca but the whole of Spain, say the new owners.
The property will be managed by the Jumeriah group, the Dubai-based hotel operator which manages the iconic Burj-al Arab "seven-star" hotel in Dubai, as well as hotels in London and New York.

Mallorca’s had a makeover

In 2005, Jumeirah announced an ambitious plan to own or manage 40 luxurious hotels at home and abroad within five years.
The Majorcan purchase was completed after various agreements with Sóller Town Hall (modification of planning permits etc. in exchange for payment of £650,000 by Wingfield to be used in three muncipal projects).
Port de Soller is only 10 miles from Deia, home to La Residencia, the grand dame of Majorca's hotels once owned by Richard Branson. In the resort itself, two hotels have rebranded as boutiques in the past year, making Port de Soller and neighbouring Soller two of the most attractive resorts on the island.

Africa's Seven Stars Hotel

We were scheduled to fly Hamburg, Germany - Paris, France (CDG) - destination Republic of Djibouti, Africa with the intention to visit the recently opened Djibouti Palace Kempinski, built on a strip of manmade reclaimed coastline. The international press studded Seven Stars an Stripes Award Presentation was announced to be attended by His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Dileita Mohamed, Prime Minister of Djibouti, all honorable ministers of his staff, ambassadors and consuls just as Air France went on strike. Make a long story short; we ended up flying Lufthansa to Charles De Gaulle from Hamburg, to find this major international European airport in turmoil and by sheer luck we ended up on one of the few planes allowed to leave that day on a non-stop business class seven-hour overnight flight with Air France to the capital city of Djibouti.
The capital city of Djibouti is located in the Republic of Djibouti, a small country in eastern Africa bordered by Eritrea in the north, Ethiopia in the west and south, and Somalia in the southeast. The remainder of the border is formed by the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden. Djibouti, the size of Massachusetts USA, features almost two hundred miles of fascinating coastline with scattered plateaus and highlands. We landed relaxed and refreshed in the early morning hours of a beautiful, sunny and already quite warm day although we still couldn't believe that we actually made it.

Thorsten Buehrmann - L'Espace Affaires
Djibouti - Ambouli International Airport, relatively small in comparison (AF serves JIB once a week), granted us quick access to the semi public arrival hall where a well-dressed uniformed driver held up a highly polished golden sign, welcoming us new arrivals of the Kempinski Palace. This well-appreciated gesture makes us always feel at home and cared for, all over the world. Our driver inquired after our passports and took over the formal entrance into the republic for us. Here we met with Albert Stienissen one of the directors of the new Kempinski Palace. We all followed Albert to the shiny silver Mercedes limo, parked at the main entrance. As we sat down, we received cold towels on a silver tray to freshen up and then we were on our merry way. For the fist time in Djibouti, we watched with great interest people and localities. Djiboutian attire seems to evince the hot climate; some men wore a loosely wrapped outfit that went down to about the knee, along with a cotton robe over the shoulder, much like a Roman toga.

Emirates Seven Stars Hotel

In a moment of semi-consciousness, flying high and securely on Etihad's New York to Abu Dhabi business class, I imagined seeing a tiny figure below, perched high on a sand dune in the middle of the desert. It was a diminutive figure waving wildly and shouting “De plane! De plane!” It was as if I was about to land on the mythical “Fantasy Island” to meet the suave and debonair white-suited Mr. Roarke, who would do the impossible to award me my secrete wishes thereby granting me fulfillment of my wildest dreams. As I was about to find out, experiencing the Emirates Palace was kind of like being on a land-locked 'Love Boat' in that there was virtually nothing that couldn't be done, and no wish or desire that would be left unfulfilled. Upon landing, my eyes wandered excitedly, searching for that certain someone who could match my dreamy vision, when out of the crowded arrivals building I caught a glimpse of a very gentle smiling face waving an elegant framed sign with my name on it. It wasn't 'Tattoo' from Fantasy Island but José Palomares, the man that was to be my butler for the next four days at the Emirates, and as it turned out my very favorite person at the Palace.
José led me out of the building as he carried all my luggage. The Emirates Palace sent José to pick me up in a Mercedes Maybach limousine, something they often do for guests scheduled to check into their Palace suites. Driver Mohammed checked with me for my temperature comfort level as well as the type of music I would like to hear, to which I replied “something Arabic”, and was obliged. Throughout the ride to the Palace, driver and butler frequently described points of interest and provided answers to FAQ's as seamlessly as seasoned tour guides. “Is the Persian Gulf nearby?” I asked innocently, realizing that I just flew over the short distance to UAE. “Oh, you mean the Corniche?” using the local name for the waterfront district just opposite the Emirates Palace.

United States Seven Stars Hotel

It was a pleasantly warm late summer afternoon when we arrived at the Ritz Carlton's soaring main entrance, located on the sophisticated 'Avenue of the Arts', right across Philadelphia's historic city hall. "Welcome to the Ritz Carlton" a smiling, friendly, uniformed valet announced as he purposely opened the door of our Daimler Chrysler. The Ritz Carlton Philadelphia resides in an early 19th century neoclassic building that used to be a bank, a priceless historic landmark in one-of-a-kind location just steps from applauded cultural sites, exceptional shops and the commerce district. The towering columns that flanked the main entrance were matched in stature in the spectacular lobby by a striking circular grand space covered by a 140- foot tall dome resembling the Pantheon of Rome. Several elegantly upholstered, carefully placed sitting areas invited ladies and gentlemen to pause and absorb the surrounding architectural alchemy. Stylishly dressed people sipped tea from fine bone china all the while their 'brilliant' pinkies raised in mannerly fashion. As we were looking up we discovered circular open corridors allowing spectators to take in the conglomerates within these illustrious rotunda walls of finest marble. An open, but somehow discreet ambiance, indeed! Check-inn was quick and very professional and up to now above reproach until an impeccably dressed uniformed member of the bell staff approached us with a million dollar smile, Brice who took service to another level. The people's man addressed us by our last name and welcomed us to the family, then guided us to our accommodations on the 28th floor. The elevator didn't make a sound and if it wouldn't have been for a minimal change in pressure, we probably would not have known that we were moving upwards. Long, elegant corridors presented deep, sound swallowing carpets and the moment Brice opened the door to our elegant suite, we felt at home. These windows are displaying a truly spectacular view over a truly spectacular, historic city.
Our Superior Room accommodations were of warm woods and golden tones, but a luscious artfully arranged chocolate tray demanded our undivided attention. The linens on this royal bed were of exquisite quality and as we later found out are available for purchase. A pillow menu allowed each of us to address our individual needs as our companion Brice was so keen to point out. The luxurious bathroom was rather small in total square footage but featured opulent glass enclosed marble shower facilities, easily accommodating two. We slipped as soon as possible into all-white, luscious bathrobes, embroidered with the initials of Ritz-Carlton's frequently returning guest. The bath amenities were of excellent taste and we found most accommodating that the WC was separated in true European style. A 'bath butler' and a 'bath menu' are available on request.
